LOCATION: The property is located six miles northwest of US Highway 60 at Quemado, New Mexico in Catron County and just south of State Road 601.  Springerville, Arizona is approximately 45 minutes west of the property with skiing at Sunrise Ski Resort just an additional twenty minutes.  Albuquerque is about 2.5 hours to the northeast.

TERRAIN:  The landscape on the ranch is phenomenal having wide valleys lined with rugged sandstone bluffs and gently rolling mesa tops that give way to immediate, breathtaking cliffs which protect deep, scenic box canyons.  The variety of terrain on the Dark Canyon Ranch is not only beautiful, but provides a myriad of the most desirable terrain aspects which are sought after in New Mexico all together in one easily accessible location.  

CONTROLLED ACCESS:  Rim rock surrounds the majority of the ranch, creating approximately three miles of natural boundary and the remainder is fenced and gated to afford the owner unmatched controllability of the entire property.  Imagine over 2,000 acres of private hunting, hiking, or riding paradise!

WILDLIFE:  The ranch is home to a multitude of wildlife including; numerous elk with massive 6x6 and 7x7 bulls a common sight around the watering holes along with mule deer, pronghorn antelope, black bear, mountain lion and bobcat.  In addition, a variety of birds take advantage of the sheer cliffs for nesting.  American Bald Eagles soar around a black granite butte which is located near the northern end of the ranch.  The ranch receives landowner elk tags for Big Game Unit 12, which is a Centerfire rifle unit.

WATER:  There is a new well located near the center of the property.  Drilled to 550 feet deep with the static water level at 330 feet, the well produces approximately five gallons per minute.  This centrally located well is drilled at a higher elevation area of the ranch and can be utilized to install pipeline and drinkers to provide water for livestock and wildlife throughout the majority of the property.  

COMMENTS:  The beauty and nature of this ranch makes it an excellent choice for a variety of uses, including; private hunting ranch, or a horse retreat, small livestock ranch, executive retreat, development or just an extremely private getaway that is easily accessible and close to hunting in the Gila, fishing at Quemado Lake or skiing at Sunrise Ski Resort.
