LOCATION: The ranch is located just off of State Road 603 approximately 20 miles northeast of Quemado, New Mexico in Catron County.  The shipping pens in the northwestern portion of the ranch enjoy county maintained access.

LIVESTOCK:  Tres Pinons Ranch is capable of running between 100 and 120 head of mother cows year around, but more recently has been utilized for summer pasture for 240 to 260 head of yearlings for six months.  With the average elevation of 7,500 feet, the predominant grass in the area is high protein Gramma which will pack on the pounds during the summer growing season.   The ranch has an excellent turf cover along with browse including Winter Fat and Chamiza.

WATER:  Water on the ranch is provided by three wells averaging 350 feet in depth and pumping an average of eight gallons per minute.  Additional livestock and wildlife water is provided by numerous earthen dams which catch and contain runoff water from monsoon rains in July, August and September.   Some pipeline with drinkers is on the property, however it will need to be attached to a well which is located on the property.

TERRAIN:  The terrain is a good combination of tree covered hills and valleys with larger hills rising in the west central portion of the ranch.

IMPROVEMENTS:  Shipping pens with a set of livestock scales along with several fenced traps are located in the northern portion of the ranch.  The entire property is fenced with some cross fencing in place.  Power and telephone are located at the shipping pens area.

WILDLIFE:  Elk, Mule Deer and Pronghorn Antelope frequent the ranch.  The ranch seems to be a preferred winter home to some of the large bull elk in the area and the earthen dams are a favorite during the rut.
